Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a global leader in IT services, consulting, and business solutions, has announced the launch of its new Generative AI (Gen AI) Tech Pathway for learners aged 18 years and above under its flagship STEM education initiative, go Innovate Together (goIT). This strategic move strengthens TCS’s commitment to building a future-ready workforce equipped with the latest digital and AI skills to address evolving global challenges.

Empowering Young Innovators with Generative AI

The newly introduced Gen AI Tech Pathway aims to provide students with:

  • Foundational understanding of Generative AI
Learners will explore the core concepts behind Generative AI, including neural networks and large language models (LLMs).

  • Hands-on experience with AI tools
The program will familiarise students with real-world tools used in AI development and prompt engineering to create innovative solutions.

  • Ethical considerations in AI applications
The pathway will focus strongly on AI ethics, bias mitigation, and responsible use, ensuring students build solutions with integrity and sustainability in mind.

  • Practical projects for real-world application
Participants will work on projects addressing sustainable development goals (SDGs), learning how AI can drive climate action, healthcare access, and inclusive economic growth.

About goIT and TCS’s Vision

Launched globally, TCS’s goIT program fosters digital innovation, problem-solving skills, and career readiness among students from underrepresented communities. The addition of the Gen AI Tech Pathway aligns with TCS’s broader goal of bridging the digital skills gap and preparing youth for the future of work in an AI-driven economy.

Speaking on the launch, a TCS spokesperson stated:

“Generative AI is transforming industries worldwide. With the Gen AI Tech Pathway, we aim to democratise AI knowledge and empower youth to leverage these technologies for a sustainable and equitable future.”

Competitive Landscape: HCLTech’s Strategic Moves

While TCS focuses on AI education, its key competitor HCLTech is expanding aggressively in the autonomous vehicle sector and public service modernisation:

  1. Collaboration with Astemo Cypremos for Autonomous Vehicles
HCLTech announced a collaboration with Astemo Cypremos to drive the development of autonomous vehicle ecosystems. This partnership combines Astemo Cypremos’ automotive technology expertise with HCLTech’s digital engineering capabilities to accelerate the adoption of self-driving systems globally.

  2. 10-Year Partnership with Dunedin City Council
HCLTech also signed a 10-year strategic partnership with Dunedin City Council (DCC) to modernise IT services, enabling improved service delivery, digital transformation, and stronger community engagement in New Zealand.

These moves underline HCLTech’s dual strategy of expanding in advanced automotive technologies while deepening its foothold in public sector digital transformation.

Driving India’s Digital Leadership Forward

TCS’s launch of the Gen AI Tech Pathway is a clear step towards fostering AI literacy among youth, strengthening India’s position as a global digital innovation hub. As competitors like HCLTech drive advancements in autonomous vehicles and strategic IT modernisation, TCS’s focus on AI education and workforce readiness ensures a pipeline of skilled innovators ready to shape tomorrow’s technological landscape.

With these initiatives, Indian IT giants continue to lead global digital transformation, catalysing inclusive growth, innovation, and sustainable progress for communities worldwide.
